Please Meet Poppy!!!

On March 7, 2017 I was driving around and decided to visit our local dog shelter.  I went inside and told them I needed to adopt a puppy.  The dog I adopted didn't have to be a puppy.  They took me to the kennels and I walked past a little female and she licked my hand.  As I walked away, she whimpered and my heart melted!!  I told the worker I was pretty sure she was the puppy for me.  She put us in a room so I could see if she would come to me. We played for a few minutes and I knew in my heart that I couldn't leave her there!!  She was born on September 28, 2016.  She is part Papillon and part Jack Russell Terrier.  I was told she had some behavioral issues and they asked me if I had little kids, which I don't.  I have had dogs all my life and told them I was willing to work with her.  I brought her home and she did have growling and nipping issues.  I posted her picture on Facebook and one of my friends recognized her and told me her previous owners would pick her up by the neck and throw her!!   She didn't have behavior issues....She had trust issues!!  It has been 2 months since I adopted her and I am very happy to say that she is trusting me more and more each day and is such a joy to have around!!  I take her to our local dog park almost every day.  We have both made several new friends, both 2 legged and 4 legged.  LOL  ðŸ˜„

I took her picture so many times the first day I adopted her that she stuck her tongue out!  LOL

Her first toy was a sock with a knot in it.  She still plays with that sock!!
