My Dad Has Cancer

My dad had a lump on his neck that suddenly appeared.  My mom took him to the doctor, who prescribed him antibiotics and referred him to a surgeon.  The surgeon removed it and it was biopsied.  The results were Stage 1 Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer.  He had a bone marrow biopsy and a PET Scan done last week.  We are waiting on the results.
Please forgive those who have wronged you for you never know what the day brings.

Amazing Week!!

I have had the most amazing week!!  My cousin planned a vacation for the two of us.  We went to Hershey, Pennsylvania for 2 days first.  The city of Hershey even smells like Hershey chocolate!!  We went to Hershey World and made our own candy bars and did the chocolate tasting.  Yummy!!  We then drove to Jersey City, New Jersey and Hoboken, New Jersey.  We went to Carlo's Bakery aka Cake Boss.  We also visited many other local shops and walked all around.
We took the subway into New York City and got on a tour bus and seen so many amazing things in New York!!!  We even went to the Broadway show "Wicked"!!!  What a treat!!!  It was amazing!!!

I Will NEVER Forget!!!

It is hard to believe it has been 14 years ago today when the terrorists hit the USA!! I can remember it as if it just happened!! I was at the chiropractor's office in the waiting room. They had a small TV on. I watched in horror as I saw the planes hit The Twin Towers and they collapsed!! People were screaming and jumping from the buildings. I sat there and cried. How could something this horrific happen?!!! Then I heard about the Pentagon and the plane that went down in PA. Everyone who could went to those tragic sites to help. The American Flag was seen EVERYWHERE and people came together and prayed!!! The terrorists thought the USA would fall apart that day but instead we ALL came together and worked together and gave each other comfort and love!!!
I look at how our country is today and I am hurt how the country I have loved is turning out to be. How did some of us turn around to become so disrespectful and make others miserable and do so much violence and hatred towards one another? We NEED to come together and LOVE one another like we have on numerous times!!! I WANT that USA back NOW!!! Have a very blessed day everyone and take care!!!

RIP PK (Pretty Kitty) Darling and Gallbladder Surgery

The last few days have been an emotional roller coaster.  I had extreme abdominal pains Thursday night that would not let up.  I was at the point where I couldn't keep any food or liquids down.  I had so much pain by my right shoulder blade in my back too.  I called my primary physician Friday morning and they told me to call my surgeon's office.  I did and talked to the nurse.  She told me to get to the Emergency Room at the hospital I was scheduled to have surgery.  I went  and they admitted me, started me on IV fluids, antibiotics through the IV, and  pain medicines in the IV.  They did an ultrasound to make sure I didn't develop any gall stones.  It was after 8pm when I was admitted and so they told me it was too late to do surgery but they called a surgeon the next morning.  He came in early Saturday morning and said as soon as an operating room was ready, I was going to surgery.  FINALLY!!  Relief was around the corner!!  I don't remember much more of that day after my surgery.   When I woke up Sunday, the pain in my abdomen and back by my right shoulder, that I had been having for almost 2 years was gone!!  I have pain where my gallbladder was removed but it is nothing like the pains I had before!!  When the surgeon came in to check on me Sunday, I was so relieved I could not thank him enough!!  1 of my nurses was talking to me and I told her no matter how much pain I am in, I will always smile and laugh!!  She said she could tell because even when I came back from recovery, I was smiling!!  I then told her about that miraculous May 11 day and some of the things that has happened since.  She told me before she was married, her husband lived at home with his mother.  His mom slept upstairs and he slept downstairs.  About 3am he sat straight up in bed and felt he had to go check on his mom.  She is a diabetic.   He didn't hear anything, he felt an urgency to check on her.  When he found her, her blood sugar was down to 20!!  He called 911 and they rushed her to the hospital.  She survived!!  The nurse said she didn't doubt at all that we have Angels around us!!  I have to agree!!  I was dismissed Sunday evening.

Last night, I couldn't find my cat PK Darling.  I called her and could hear a faint meow.  My youngest son found her and her eyes were watering so much like she was crying!  I could tell how sick she was!!  I called the vet.  It was 11:30pm.  He met us at the veterinary clinic.  He got blood out of her stomach, NOT GOOD!!  He then did an ultrasound and he counted at least 8 tumors.  Her prognosis was not good!!  He said without medical attention, she wouldn't be alive after 48 hours.  With medical attention, she might survive 3 months.  He said since she had so many tumors, they couldn't remove all of them and the procedures she would have to go through would be very painful.  I could tell by her cries, she was in a lot of pain so I made the toughest decision a pet parent could ever make!!  I had her put to sleep.  The vet was so caring and compassionate!!  He even made her a cardboard casket.  She has now crossed over The Rainbow Bridge!!

Race For Surgery

I am scheduled to have gallbladder surgery Tuesday.  I won't know what time til Monday when the hospital calls me.
My endocrinologist had another MRI done on me yesterday.  He is rushing the results to the surgeon in Boston.  I feel like my doctors are racing to get me into surgery so I will feel better.  I have been so sick with the gallbladder attacks.  I can't eat and to even drink water makes me so sick!  I can't take my medications either.  I have lost a total of 50 pounds.  I wanted to lose weight but I would much rather walk and exercise to do it than get sick all the time.

Another Surgery

I had a HIDA Scan yesterday because I am still having severe abdominal pains and after an ultrasound and CT Scan didn't show anything, my primary care physician ordered the HIDA Scan.   I was injected with radioactive medicine and had to lay on a hard plastic table over 2 1/2 hours while pictures were taken.  The HIDA Scan showed my gallbladder isn't working properly.  Meh, what's another surgery!  I am almost healed from the complete hysterectomy.  
I should find out next week when I go to Boston to have the tumor removed from my pituitary gland.  My right eye is driving me crazy.  It will all work out!!
PLEASE be nice to one another!!!  The world is so much better that way!!!

Surgery Tomorrow

I am going to have a complete hysterectomy tomorrow.  I am still having severe abdominal pains.  I had to go to the hospital for pre-admission testing and meet the anesthesiologist.  Everyone at the hospital were super nice!!  The anesthesiologist was very caring and discussed all of my medical issues.  The surgery is going to be done robotically.  They are keeping me overnight to keep an eye on me because of the cerebral aneurysms.  I am not scared.  I know I am in excellent hands!!

Field Vision Test

I have to have another Field Vision Test today.  My eyes will be exhausted afterwards.  I then have an appointment to get shots in my shoulder.  I can't wait for those!!  My shoulder has been hurting so much that I can barely move my right arm.  The shots won't hurt.  My pain management doctor knows just how to do them.

Hoops, Hoops, and More Hoops

I am still jumping through lots of hoops, figuratively speaking, in hopes that my surgeries will get approved and get done so maybe I will feel a lot better.  The double and blurry vision has gotten worse and I have periods where I don't see anything.  I know everything happens for a reason.  I don't want to lose my vision.
My gynecologist wanted me to have a bladder test to see if my bladder surgery needs redone.  He will do that while he does the complete hysterectomy.  I woke up today and every time I go to the bathroom, it hurts so much and my urine is very cloudy.  It feels like I have a urinary tract infection
(UTI).  I am going to call the doctor in the morning.  It WILL get better!!

Long Time

I know it has been over a month since my last post.  I have been so sick.  I was in the hospital for a bit.  I was having severe chest and abdominal pains.  (I still have the severe abdominal pains.)  The double and blurry vision are worse.  I am more tired and dizzy too.  I am bruised from hitting walls and falling down.
I saw an endocrinologist.  He said the tumor on my pituitary gland has grown and is pressing against the optic nerve.  My pituitary gland isn't producing my hormones properly.  My cortisol level is extremely low.  It is only slightly above 1.  I have other hormone levels that are extremely low too and a few are too high.  They are completely messed up.  He wants me to see a neurosurgeon in Boston, MA.  He is top in the nation for brain surgery.  I have read up on him and he is amazing!!  Surgeons from all over the world go to watch him operate.  The neurosurgeon said this,  “How beautiful the brain is. I’m amazed with what happens with the human brain, and I love dealing with it in an intimate fashion.” He describes the brain as “one of the greatest of God’s creations.”  He is definitely the neurosurgeon I need and want!!

Biopsy Results

I received my biopsy report Friday from my gynecologist.  He said the report came back.  There are NO precancerous cells on the inside of my cervix and the surrounding tissue on the outside beyond the precancerous cells shows there are none there too!!!  Yeah!!  OUR GOD IS AWESOME!!!

Interesting Doctor Visit

I had an appointment to see my pulmonologist today.  We were discussing how much water I drink a day and about my double and blurry vision.  He wants me to see an endocrinologist because he thinks the tumor on my pituitary gland has grown and might need removed.  I read where a very small amount of people get a tumor on their pituitary gland that grows sideways and causes double vision because it affects the nerves which control eye movements.  The pituitary gland also produces an antidiuretic hormone, which reclaims water from the kidneys to prevent dehydration.  Since I drink so much water and go to the bathroom a lot, he thinks my body isn't producing that hormone.  What is another surgery, right?  lol
I had an appointment a few hours later to get injections in both sciaticas.  I have been trying to stay upbeat about everything I have been hit with physically.  I am still smiling!  I got the hiccups and they were laughing at me in the operating room.  I also had the giggles and one of the nurses said she never saw anyone laughing when they came in and one of the other nurses told her she never had me.  lol

Hospital Again

I haven't been feeling well since the biopsy on Jan 13, 2015.  I felt extremely nauseous, tired, abdominal pains, and I was bleeding more the last few days.  I called the number on my insurance card for the 24 hour nurse to see what she suggested.  She told me to get to the emergency room within the next 4 hours.  I went.  They ran all kinds of blood work, gave me IV fluids, pain meds, and zofran for the nausea.  They also done an ultrasound of my gallbladder, liver, and pancreas.  They said they couldn't see anything on the ultrasound but if the x-ray technician found anything, they would call me asap.  They were so sweet and caring!!  I was there for several hours but I didn't care because they were taking excellent care of me.  The IV fluids and medications helped tremendously!!  The emergency room doctor looked sad because they couldn't find out why I am having bad abdominal pains.  Someone will figure it out.  I was once told by a doctor that my body is wired differently than others because the weird things happen to me.  This is another example of that.  lol  I was told by the technician who done my ultrasound that I have a very positive attitude and he loved my smile!!  I told him smiling is A LOT better than crying!!  Have a very blessed day everyone and remember:  YOU ARE LOVED SO VERY MUCH!!!

I am still recuperating from the biopsy on Tuesday.  It has taken a lot out of me both physically and mentally.  The last picture is a graphic one.  I told my gynecologist I won't have any fingernails left because of waiting to see what the results are of the biopsy. I hope this encourages EVERY woman to make sure she has her annual Pap Smear and Mammogram!!  Please take care everyone and remember:  YOU ARE LOVED SO VERY MUCH!!!

Still Smiling!!

This is going to be a tough next few days but with the help of God and my family and friends, I WILL get through it!!  I have a MRI and MRA of my brain tomorrow.  A MRI takes detailed images of tissues and tendons and a MRA takes detailed pictures of blood vessels and arteries.  The doctors want to see if the tumor on my pituitary gland and my cerebral aneurysms have changed in size.  The next day I will be having a more intensive biopsy.  My gynecologist will be cutting the tip of my cervix off to see if the precancerous cells are on the inside of it.  We already know I have Stage 2 precancerous cells on the outside of it.  I have to admit I am scared about the next few days but I am still smiling!!

Spaghetti Warehouse, Admitted To The Hospital, And The First Snow of 2015

Jan 4, 2015, was Spaghetti Day at Spaghetti Warehouse.  They had buy one dinner get one free.  Nom! Nom!  It also came with soup or salad and bread.

Top it off with a cannoli for dessert!!  Nom!  Nom!  Nom!

I love the decor in The Spaghetti Warehouse!  We were seated in the elevator.  My friend said it would be cool if it was a working elevator and I said, "Be careful!  The ghosts will hear and make it happen!"  We laughed!  Yes, many of The Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants are haunted but that adds to the atmosphere.   They usually don't come out when guests are there.

I started having Myoclonus Seizures while I was with my friends in Columbus.  They were so bad after an hour of still having them, an ambulance was called to take me to the hospital.  They were so strong, my heart was hurting!  They gave me 4 Baby Aspirins and a Nitro for my heart and Ativan injections for the seizures.  They kept me overnight because my heart was showing A-Fib.  The Ativan didn't help much and the doctor wouldn't order anything else so I took my coat and literally wrapped one sleeve around one arm and the other sleeve around the other arm and clenched my hands together.  I curled up in the fetal position and put my hands under the pillow.  They were still shaking some but at least I didn't feel like I was going to hit myself in my face.  I am still smiling tho!  I had 2 heart monitors on in the hospital...The one I have about 2 weeks left to wear and the one the hospital put on me.

This was my lunch the next day.  It was a salad with grilled chicken and vegetables with orange vinaigrette dressing.  Nom!  Nom!  Nom!  It was a treat!

We got about 6 inches of snow and the temperature is 14 right now on this Jan 6 morning.  The kids have been sledding down the hills on this bright and early morning.  I love hearing them laugh!
