Today is Columbus Day in the United States. The day Christopher Columbus landed in America was October 12, 1492 but it is being celebrated today because it is a Monday and some workers such as postal workers, government workers, bankers, etc will get today off.
Today is also my mom's 70th birthday!!! I admire her so much!!! She had polio when she was 2 and the doctors didn't think she would walk. She walks with a limp because of the numerous surgeries she had on her legs. She has to wear oxygen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week now because she has COPD and emphysema from smoking. She told me she wished she knew when she was a teenager the damage smoking would do and she would have NEVER started!!! PLEASE if you smoke, stop NOW!!! She smoked over 50 years and stopped cold turkey. I am so thankful she did!!! I love her so very much!!! I have had people ask me how I can remain strong with everything I am going through. I tell them because I have fabulous family and friends and God to help me!!! My mom gave me a lot of strength because watching her over the years overcome so many different things!!! She is an amazing woman!!! Happy Birthday Mom!!! I love you so very much!!!
Have a blessed day everyone and please take care!!!
Laugh And Smile Often, Love ALWAYS!!!
