I passed out at the hospital on Friday while 1 of my sisters had an appointment there. I guess if I was going to pass out, the hospital would be the place to do it. The treating Emergency Room doctor I had was not very nice. They ran the usual blood screens, urinalysis, and done a chest x-ray and CT scan. He said nothing was wrong with me. I told him my stomach hurt a lot and I asked him if I still had the UTI I had been diagnosed with earlier in the week and had just finished the antibiotics for and he said, Oh yes that came back positive. He wrote me a prescription for more antibiotics and sent me on my way.
I was very sick all night...I had a bad case of the flu. I had gotten the flu vaccine in October just as I have the last 7 years. I guess the CDC missed on what flu strain was going to go around. Finally, I couldn't handle the pain in my stomach anymore not to mention the other things that were going on. When I tried to take my medication, it was a definite no go. It came right back up. What a waste of a pill! I went to the hospital here and they got me right in. The doctor and nurses were fabulous!!! They drew more blood, gave me an IV, pain meds, Zofran, and antibiotics all through the IV. The doctor told me I was severely dehydrated and since I was so sick, IV antibiotics were in order for the UTI. I am so glad I went to our hospital!!! I was treated like a queen!!! 1 of the nurses told me to make sure I eat yogurt with Acidophilus in it. Acidolphilus is a good bacteria that your body normally has in it. Antibiotics can kill the good and bad bacteria. When there are low amounts of good bacteria it will cause gastrointestinal problems and in women it can cause yeast infections. I found Acidolphilus milk at the grocery store. It tastes like regular milk. Yummy!!! I am doing much better now!!!
With everything I have going on physically, I have learned if 1 doctor tells me there isn't anything wrong, there IS a doctor(s) out there who will find out what is wrong!!!
Have a happy and blessed day everyone!!! Smiling, laughing, hugging, and love are very good medications and they don't cost anything!!! I am truly blessed to have LOTS of friends and family who make me smile, laugh, and feel loved!!!
Laugh and Smile Often, Love ALWAYS!!!
